Established by a British/Canadian land surveyor, planner, developer, real estate broker, and
romantic swashbuckler, W. N. (Bill) Wildman, the beginning of the Consejo Shores community
dates back to the 1960s, when, after exploring most of the Caribbean, the development founder 
decided to direct his efforts toward a residential project in the country, then known as British
Honduras, specifically, the Northern area close to the sleepy fishing village of Consejo. He had
fallen in love with the beauty of the property, its idyllic seaside location with easy access to 
Mexico and the Cayes, and the friendliness of the local people.
 
Beginning with 350 acres of densely foliaged "jungle", the land has quietly gone through its
transformation into a tranquil, tropical, residential community. Always keeping his vision in sight
and building on a reputation for honest, ethical business practices, Bill Wildman, Consejo Shores
Ltd. (CSL) and the Consejo Shores development have become synonymous with quality, integrity,
and service.
